Housing and Wellbeing Officer - Part Time - 18.12 hours per week\n\nLocation: Pomona Gardens - Manchester\n\nSalary: £29,353 pro rata\n\nReporting to the Housing and Wellbeing Manager, the Housing and Wellbeing Officer is responsible for working with people accessing the Achieve Drug and Alcohol Recovery Pathway to promote and maximise their independence, assisting them to move on to greater self-reliance within a customer focused environment and in line with the Independence and Wellbeing framework. This post has a specific focus on move on, resettlement work and creating strong partnerships with landlords that will lead to increased move on and homelessness prevention.\n\nWhat you’ll be doing\n\nTo assist our customers to identify their strengths, development needs and risks to jointly develop a move on plan to build on or address these, including coaching and assisting customers to achieve greater independence;\n\nTo encourage community cohesion, identifying opportunities for individuals to come together, share their experiences, culture and celebrate diversity.\n\nTo assist customers to access other agencies and their services and know of the services within the wider community;\n\nTo coach and assist customers to maintain their occupancy agreement and fully understand their responsibilities; and understand the different types of tenure. .;\n\nTo ensure safeguarding concerns are dealt with promptly and in line with guide lines and appropriate action is taken;\n\nTo develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers in relevant organisations or agencies to ensure customers are properly supported in accordance with their identified plans;\n\nTo create partnerships with social landlords, private landlords and explore various different options for the tenants\n\nTo advocate for people accessing the service with other organisations and systems.\n\nTo run community drop-in sessions to assist people accessing the pathway who have a housing need.\n\nTo build and maintain strong partnership relationships across the Achieve Recovery Pathway\n\nWhat you’ll need\n\nRelevant professional qualifications/ memberships (Institute of Customer Service qualification) OR willing to study towards\n\nQualified to minimum level 2 in English and Maths\n\nEvidence of well-developed IT and keyboard skills\n\nHold a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle for use at work.\n\nWhat we need from you\n\nYou will be required to attend a number of face to face training sessions as well as virtual sessions and e-learning this part of your role is vital and of equal importance as the day to day aspects.\n\nExperience of working in Housing Management is desirable.\n\nExperience of move on and resettlement work within homelessness.\n\nExperience of using a strength based approach to assist customers to achieve their goals is desirable.\n\nExperience of administration and recording procedures, with an in depth understanding of confidentiality.\n\nAbility to engage and to build relationships with partnering or potential partner agencies or organisations.\n\nExperience and understanding of safeguarding.\n\nGood written and verbal communication.\n\nEffective liaison with colleagues and other stakeholders to give, or find, information to resolve problems.\n\nExperience of providing or signposting customers towards a responsive, timely, quality assured welfare benefit advice service that provides a holistic and integrated solution to support them solve their problem.\n\nDemonstrable coaching skills in promoting independence.\n\nUse of the relevant range of Microsoft Office applications\n\nWhat we give you in return for your hard work and commitment\n\nPension ¦DC Scheme (up to 10% contribution from both colleague and Great Places)\n\nWPA ¦Healthcare auto enrolled at no contribution level with £1250 of savings available- option to increase & add on family members\n\nThe Market Place ¦High street, restaurant & supermarket discounts, gym memberships, cycle to work, smart tech loans and much more\n\nAnnual Leave ¦Start at 26 days annual leave, increasing up to 30 days within 5 years+ Bank Holidays\n\nReward & Recognition ¦ You Count Rewards are individual reward’s for going ‘above & beyond’\n\nHelp with transport ¦ We offer season ticket loans, an affordable way to purchase season tickets for public transport at discounted rates .\n\nWage Stream ¦ You can access savings opportunities and early access to wages\n\nAt Great Places we believe the wellbeing of our colleagues is vital to enable them to deliver to great services, all your benefits can be used inside and outside of work.\n\n“Great Places Housing Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all our colleagues to share this commitment.\n\nAll successful applicant(s) will be subject to an enhanced criminal records background check (Child and Adult Workforce, Child Barred List).\n\nFurther detail on our commitment to safeguarding children/young people & vulnerable adults can be found in the Great Places Housing Group Safeguarding Policy & Recruitment Policy on our website”.\n\nClosing date: 3rd June 2026\n\nShortlist date: 4th June 2026\n\nInterview date: TBC
