Join a leading UK private sector provider of housing and neighbourhood services as a Housing Manager. In this role, you will provide a comprehensive and customer-focused housing management service to a designated patch of properties. You will act as the primary interface with residents, focusing on sustaining tenancies, improving the quality of life for residents, and meeting key performance indicators and contract priorities.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage tenancy and leasehold issues, undertaking extensive liaison with residents, colleagues, external partners such as the local authority, contractors, and the voluntary sector to ensure outstanding outcomes for residents.
  • Develop strong and effective working relationships with clients, resident representatives, elected members, and other key stakeholders to create a positive impression of the services delivered.
  • Manage the day-to-day operational delivery of housing management services, including responding to complaints and correspondence.
  • Handle anti-social behaviour cases and manage the voids process and re-letting of properties within contract targets.
  • Ensure tenancy management issues are dealt with promptly and in accordance with council policies/statutory guidelines.
  • Lead on liaison with council departments/contractors on arrears management and repairs and maintenance issues.
  • Conduct estate inspections and collaborate with contractors to ensure high standards of cleaning and grounds maintenance are delivered and communal repairs are logged and completed as required.
  • Lead on resident engagement initiatives and participate in forums, review panels, partnerships meetings, tenant and resident meetings, and community events as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a fast-moving, pressurized, front-line housing management environment dealing with complex issues and competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of legislation relating to social housing.
  • Excellent customer service skills and understanding of the importance of promoting excellent customer service to others, with a positive can-do solution-oriented approach.
  • Ability to produce and present comprehensive professional reports clearly and concisely to a diverse audience.
  • Demonstrable evidence of improving services and performance for tenants and leaseholders.
