Are you passionate about inspiring young people and making a meaningful difference in your community?\n\nSennen Education are working with a large Specialist School who is currently recruiting for an Outreach Learning Mentor to join their team. The setting provides a specialised educational programme for children who have an Education, Health and Care Plan, specifically Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.\n\nWhy become an Outreach Learning Mentor?\n\nThe school and Sennen Education work in partnership to provide a supportive environment where your passion and dedication to education, mental health, and community growth can thrive. As an Outreach Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the emotional, social, and academic development of young people, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and SEMH needs, helping them overcome barriers and fulfil their potential.\n\nYour Role as an Outreach Mentor – Key Responsibilities\n\nMake a Difference Every Day\nConnect with hard-to-reach young people through activities such as sports, music, dance, and more, offering positive guidance and crucial mentorship, becoming the role model they so desperately need.\n\nSupport Mental Health & Well-Being\nCreate safe spaces for discussions around mental health, supporting the students to overcome challenges and to thrive in a positive learning environment.\n\nWork with SEN Students\nDeliver tailored support to young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring each student’s unique needs are met with empathy and respect.\n\nProvide Pastoral Support\nBuild meaningful connections with students, guiding them academically and socially through trust, empathy, and encouragement.\n\nEngage Students through Interactive Activities\nLead sports, arts, and creative activities that inspire and motivate, helping the student engage with their education.\n\nCreate a Safe, Inclusive Environment\nEncourage positive behaviour, helping students overcome emotional challenges and behave positively whether in or out the classroom.\n\nMentor Young People with SEN\nAdapt your strategies to meet the specific needs of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring each individual receives the support they need.\n\nDeliver Positive Behavioural Support\nUtilise training in positive behaviour management to de-escalate challenging situations and cultivate resilience.\n\nBy registering with Sennen Education, you will benefit from:\n\n * Free Level 2 Team Teach training valued at £1500, this widely recognised qualification equips you with skills such as positive behaviour management, de-escalation techniques and provide safe interventions\n\n * Experienced consultant to offer support and advice\n\n * We can offer you certified CPD courses\n\n * A generous referral scheme - recommend a friend and earn a reward\n\n * Full interview preparation and assistance - so you're fully prepped and confident, increasing your chances of success\n\nSafeguarding children is at the heart of what we do and we undertake checks on all the candidates we work with.

As such we require a current, enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. We offer all our registered candidates free safeguarding and prevent duty training
