The school is committed to ensuring every young person has the opportunity to succeed, achieve excellence, and fulfil their potential regardless of background.\n\nThe school serves a diverse inner-city community and has built a national reputation for academic excellence, inclusivity, and exceptional student outcomes.\n\nAbout the School\n\nOur client is proud to offer:\n\nAn Outstanding Ofsted judgement (most recently confirmed in 2022)\nRecognition as a World Class School\nExceptional GCSE outcomes across all EBACC subjects\nConsistently outstanding A-Level results, placing the school among the top-performing schools nationally\nA diverse and vibrant student community\nStrong staff satisfaction, with the vast majority of staff expressing pride in working at the school and confidence in its leadership\nA highly oversubscribed intake, receiving significantly more applications than available places each year\nA culture of high expectations, support, and continuous professional development\n\nThe Role\n\nThe successful candidate will:\n\nTeach Religious Studies across allocated classes and key stages\nDeliver engaging, challenging and high-quality lessons that inspire students to achieve their best\nContribute to curriculum development, including schemes of work and programmes of study\nSupport the continued development of Religious Studies within the school\nMaintain high standards of teaching, learning, behaviour and achievement\nLead and contribute to a range of Religious Studies enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities\nUndertake the responsibilities of a Form Tutor or Sixth Form Tutor\nWork collaboratively with colleagues to support whole-school improvement initiatives\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nThe postholder will:\n\nCreate a purposeful, stimulating and inclusive learning environment\nPlan, deliver and assess lessons effectively across all key stages\nMonitor, assess and report on student progress in line with school policies\nSet and mark work regularly, providing clear feedback to students\nUse performance data to inform planning and raise achievement\nSupport students with additional learning needs in collaboration with specialist teams\nPromote positive behaviour and high standards of attendance\nContribute to curriculum planning and departmental development\nAttend and actively participate in departmental, year team and pastoral meetings\nSupport wider school activities and events\n\nThe Ideal Candidate\n\nThe successful applicant will:\n\nHold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification\nBe passionate about Religious Studies and committed to delivering excellent outcomes\nDemonstrate strong subject knowledge and effective classroom practice\nHave high expectations of student achievement and behaviour\nBe committed to inclusive education and supporting students from all backgrounds\nPossess excellent communication and organisational skills\nBe eager to contribute to the wider life of the school\n\nWhy Apply?\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to join one of South London's most respected and high-achieving schools.
