Semi-Senior Accountant – Liverpool, Merseyside\nLocation: Liverpool, Merseyside\nPosition Type: Permanent, Full-time | Semi-Senior Accountant\nIndustry: Chartered Accountancy / Accounts & Business Advisory\nSalary: £24,000 – £30,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe’re representing a well-established and forward-thinking accountancy practice based in Liverpool, recognised for providing high-quality accounting, advisory, and business support services to a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious practice professional to gain exposure to varied client work, develop technical expertise, and progress within a supportive and collaborative environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Assist in the preparation of accounts for Limited Companies, LLPs, partnerships, and sole traders\n\n * Prepare management accounts, VAT returns, and bookkeeping for a varied client portfolio\n\n * Support the delivery of accounts preparation services for owner-managed businesses\n\n * Liaise directly with clients, responding to day-to-day queries and providing support\n\n * Work with cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and similar systems\n\n * Ensure compliance deadlines are met and work is completed accurately and efficiently\n\n * Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery\n\n * Collaborate with colleagues across the wider team and support ongoing process improvements\n\nIdeal Candidate Profile\n\n * AAT Level 3 qualified or above\n\n * ACA / ACCA part-qualified, fully qualified, or qualified by experience\n\n * Minimum 2 years’ experience within an accountancy practice\n\n * Strong working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Microsoft Office\n\n * Good understanding of accounts preparation and bookkeeping processes\n\n * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills\n\n * Proactive, organised, and client-focused with strong attention to detail\n\n * Willingness to travel occasionally to other office locations where required\n\nWhy This Opportunity Stands Out\n\n * Competitive salary of £24,000 – £30,000 depending on experience\n\n * Hybrid / flexible working arrangements\n\n * Supportive and collaborative team culture\n\n * Exposure to a broad range of owner-managed business clients\n\n * Clear progression and development opportunities\n\n * Inclusive and people-focused working environment\n\n * Strong emphasis on work-life balance and employee wellbeing
