Shift Team Leader – Energy from Waste Power Plant\n\nLocation: Liverpool\nSalary: £45,000-£60,000 + Benefits + Shift Allowance\nJob Type: Full-Time | Permanent\n\nThe Opportunity:\n\nWe are recruiting for an experienced Shift Team Leader to join a modern Energy from Waste power generation facility in the Liverpool area.\n\nReporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient day-to-day operation of the plant while leading and supporting the shift operations team. This is a hands-on leadership role within a fast-paced operational environment where safety, reliability and performance are key priorities.\n\nThis opportunity would suit candidates with a strong background in power generation, thermal plant operations, EfW, CHP, biomass, utilities or other heavy process industries.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Lead and supervise the shift operations team during day-to-day plant operations\n\n * Ensure high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance\n\n * Maximise plant availability, efficiency and reliability\n\n * Monitor plant performance and respond proactively to operational issues\n\n * Support routine maintenance activities, fault finding and defect resolution\n\n * Operate within site safety rules and permit systems\n\n * Produce accurate shift logs, defect reports and operational documentation\n\n * Support outage planning, scheduling and coordination activities\n\n * Interface with contractors and external service providers where required\n\n * Act as part of the emergency response structure during site incidents\n\n * Maintain high housekeeping and operational standards across the site\n\n * Promote a positive safety culture and strong team environment\n\nQualifications & Knowledge\n\n * HND or equivalent in an Engineering discipline preferred\n\n * Strong understanding of thermal power plant operations or heavy industrial processes\n\n * Knowledge of permit to work systems, HV/LV systems and operational safety procedures\n\n * NEBOSH or IOSH qualification advantageous\n\nExperience\n\n * Minimum 5 years’ experience within power generation or process plant operations\n\n * Previous supervisory or team leadership experience\n\n * Experience operating from a control room environment desirable\n\n * Background within EfW, biomass, CHP, CCGT, utilities, petrochemical or similar sectors preferred\n\nWhat’s on Offer?\n\n * £45,000-£60,000 annual + bonuses + Other benefits\n\n * Long-term permanent opportunity\n\n * Career progression within a growing power generation sector\n\n * Supportive and professional working environment
